Reading Habits Tag!

Thank you Erika in Bookventureland for tagging me! I love doing tags for they are so much fun, so lets start:

♥ Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Actually, I’m the kind of person that walks around the house while reading and does all the normal activities like eating breakfast or playing videogames with my book beside me so I can read whenever there is a small free time to do so, like for example when there is a cutscene that I already saw on a videogame or a commercial when I’m watching TV. Not kidding! But if I had to choose my favorite place for reading it would be my bed (obviously).

♥ Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I would like to say that I have an special bookmark that I did myself inspired by one of my favorite books. But in reality… I just use whatever I find lying around when I want to close my book for any reason. If I can’t find anything I just use my memory. I know, it’s sad. But maybe I can just buy a bookmark since I always am too lazy to make one.

♥ Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?

When I’m reading on my bed and I have nothing else to think about, I only allow myself to stop reading to go to the bathroom or because someone is calling me. Other reason could be that I’m too sleepy to continue reading, but that only stops me when the book isn’t interesting enough to keep me from falling asleep for I tend to finish the books I really liked in just one day. But if I do stop for any reason mentioned above I just do it on a random part, like for example the middle of a paragraph.

If I’m going around the house while reading, then obviously I tend to stop a lot for random reasons, like for example when my cat is asking me for more food by trying to push the book of my hands. In cases like that I have no other choice but to stop on a random place.

♥ Do you eat or drink while reading?

If I’m reading a physical book, then I never drink anything in fear that I might ruin my book but I eat breakfast and midnight snacks while reading. If I’m reading an ebook, then I drink anything I want, go outside to play with my dog, use paints and watercolors and even cook (and if someone asks me, why are the french fries burnt ? Then it’s because I was on a really good part of the book I was reading).

♥ Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

If you are in this part of the post then you probably noticed that there is practically nothing I can’t do while reading, expect one thing: listening music. I just can’t! I’ve tried and it’s impossible, I can concentrate on either the music or the book but not on both. Yet, I’m able to talk with someone while reading and I perfectly understand what they tell me and answer them.

At first I thought that it was Oli Sykes’ fault so I tried to listen something lighter. It didn’t work. Then I tried classic music, it also didn’t work. In the end, I just had to accept that I just wasn’t born to listen music while reading.

♥ Reading at home or everywhere?

I can read on any place of my house, you name it. But for a reason I can’t read outside where there are people I don’t know, looking at me. I just can’t. Not even at a friends house, well I can’t read anywhere if my friends are there because they like to bother me by telling me that I read too much (as if I cared about their opinion). I also have noticed that I can’t read on any kind of vehicle for it gives me a terrible headache.

I still carry a random book with me whenever I go out, even if  almost never read it. I don’t know, I just feel better knowing that if my social skills fail at any moment I can just grab my book and read.

♥ Reading out loud or silently in your head?

I never read out loud. I don’t know why, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever thought about it before. I guess I read in my head because it’s faster and because I have done it that way ever since I have memory.

♥ Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

Okay, I have to admit that I sometimes skip a paragraph or two, yet never more than one page. And that only happens if the book is slow or kind of boring.

♥ Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I try to take care of them as best as I can but they always end up with small signs of use.

♥ Do you write in your books?

Never! I don’t know, it just doesn’t feel right for me. But sometimes I put a small post it to remember where my favorite quotes or parts are.

Now for the tagging. If I tag you and you don’t like doing this kind of things, then don’t worry you don’t have to do it. For those who want to do this tag, I can’t wait to read your answers! If you happen to read this post and would like to do this tag, then you are officially tagged by me to do this tag and leave the link to your answers below. I would love to see what different habits each of us have! And I hope you all will have as much fun as I had while doing this tag.
